NetDog MMO game networking engine releases new major version, providing a multitude of enhancements

March 20, 2010: PX Interactive announces the release of NetDog version 2.0.0, a highly scalable, high performance engine for Massively Multiplayer Online Games. Version 2.0.0 contains several major enhancements, bringing unparalleled performace to NetDog-based applications. Key enhancements include:

  • Completely new object-oriented C++ API, makes learning NetDog easier than ever.
  • Remote Procedure Call support, makes writing NetDog-based applications faster and more intuitive.
  • File Transfer API, allows entire file transfers of virtually any size (subject to OS limitations) with just a few lines of code.
  • Streamlined encryption interface, makes encryption toggleable with a single line of code.
  • Automatic message fragmentation, allows sending of large events/RPCs, up to 4GB in size.
  • Automatic message aggregation, allows multiple small events/RPCs to transparently combine into a single network packet, reducing network load.
  • Optimized message pipeline, allows concurrent execution of events through the use of "tasklets".
